Nigerian Telecom Industry is expecting new laws on Co-location and Infrastructure Sharing.  Telecommunications Masts and Associated Facilities (Location, Co-location and Infrastructure Sharing) Bill, 2008 bill is progressing through the House of Representatives in Abuja, Nigeria.

With this bill, Nigerian telecom industry will find appropriate legislation for concerns relating to location, co-location, and infrastructure sharing amongst telecoms operators in Nigeria.

Steven Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat Nigeria confirmed “Etisalat would like a situation where there is legislation on co-location and sharing.”

Co-location and Infrastructure Sharing amongst telecom operators was described as "the next big thing in the Nigerian Telecoms industry" by Ladi Balogun, the Chief Executive Officer of First City Monument Bank.
